The average German eats over 1 kilogram of asparagus a year according to this blog from 2012. Which actually sounds like a very small amount if you see what a kilo of asparagus looks like and the rapacity with which people hunt it down as soon as it’s in season.

Germany is the 4th largest producer of asparagus in the world dedicating 22% of its vegetable area to producing asparagus (which sounds less impressive than saying ‘agricultural area’ or ‘total area’), according to this website, which seems a bit more reputable.

Regardless, we’re here to talk about the fact that I took a picture of myself today. Look at this. It’s me. I’m in an asparagus field buying asparagus. White and green asparagus.

This post is uninspired, but it’s late so I need to go to bed. Here’s another time I wrote about asparagus.
