A long ride takes math.

24 kilometers to the next town.

24 divided by 5.

Let’ round up to 25 and say 5.

5 times about 3.

That’s around 15 miles.

I can do that. That’s just from home to Beaver Dam. Not too far.

It was kind of a dorky bike ride. There was a lot on my mind and a lot spinning. It seemed like three days on the road on a bike would be good for working out some of the bugs. But for some reason I couldn’t stop doing math while rolling past trail signs (rolling into Koblenz in this one).

Well, that and strangely I couldn’t get Glenn Miller’s ‘American Patrol’ out of my head for most of the trip.
