After my first night in Turkey my heart was brimming with distrust for any human. Balloon guy really didn’t deserve what he got.

“I don’t have change now. I will phone your hotel and tell them to give you change when you go back.”

“Well no, I see that wad a of cash right now. I want my change now.”

“No, I cannot do that, please move along. There are other people waiting.”

“Yes, I understand that, but I will wait. I’m serious. I want my change.”

“Sir, the balloons are leaving.”

[insert serious face]

I finally moved out of line and back with my friends. It was only 3 Euros in question, but I accosted him one more time before we went up. I would not be screwed over again. What if I wanted to buy something while we were in the balloon?

Upon returning to our hotel, my friend gave me my change.

  1. Well, there’s a rule to add to the Kyle Rules of Travel: Don’t trust Turkish Balloon-Ride Ticket-Sellers.
    Uncool, Turkey!!
